Mobile adaptome: extreme adaptation and bioprospection

We would like to invite you to the institute seminar: on Monday 6th of March at 2 pm, Msc. Karol Ciuchciński from the Department of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology will give a seminar entitled „Exploring the Mobile Adaptome: role of MGE in adaptation to extreme environments and Bioprospection of Novel Enzymes.

Abstract:

The mobile adaptome of bacteria from extreme environments is a relatively underutilised source of knowledge about mechanisms of adaptation to environmental conditions and the role of MGE in the dissemination of adaptive traits. It is also a vast and largely untapped source of novel enzymes with unique properties. By studying the diversity of the mobile adaptome in different extreme environments, we can discover the mechanisms of adaptation to those environments, as well as identify new enzymes that are adapted to harsh conditions and have potential applications in biotechnology

In this seminar, I present my plans to explore the diversity of the mobile adaptome in various extreme environments. By studying the mobile adaptome in these environments, I hope to gain insights into the mechanisms of bacterial adaptation and identify new enzymes with unique properties that have potential applications in biotechnology and molecular biology.
